In Operation: Monster Storms, you'll meet scientists who dash
into the tornado's path and fly into the hurricane's eye! These five
host researchers are the guides who explain the science and work with
students to unlock the mysteries of extreme weather.

Meet the Researchers
Each year, JASON selects host researchers from NOAA, NASA, and
National Geographic. To learn more about the host researchers
featured in the Operation: Monster Storms curriculum,

Anthony
Guillory NASA's Wallops Flight Facility Host Researcher,
Mission 1
Anthony launches remote-controlled airplanes
into storms to gather important data used to protect lives
and property. He has also helped build weather stations
for rural towns to give them up-to-the-minute weather forecasts. |

 |
Robbie
Hood NASA's Wallops Flight Facility Host Researcher,
Mission 2
Robbie lived through one of the most devastating
hurricanes of the 20th century, Hurricane Camille. She uses
airplanes and satellites to study rainfall in tropical storms
and hurricanes. |

in tornadoes as a boy when he watched The Wizard of Oz.
Now he chases them, getting up-close and personal to learn
more about these awesome forces of nature. |

Jason Dunion
NOAA's Hurricane Research Division Host Researcher, Mission
4
Before Jason became a hurricane hunter, he was
a social worker, because he wanted to help people. Today,
he helps all of us by flying into hurricanes to improve
forecasting and tracking. |

Shirley
Murrillo NOAA's Hurricane Research Division Host
Researcher, Mission 5
