Dr. Robert D. Ballard is chairman of The JASON Project and explorer-in-residence with the National Geographic Society. Learn more >

National Geographic
The National Geographic Society was a founding sponsor of The JASON Project in 1989. In July 2005, The JASON Project became a nonprofit subsidiary of National Geographic, providing JASON with access to its rich array of explorers, expeditions, and other resources. Learn more >
