Mysteries of Earth & Mars In Mysteries of Earth & Mars, JASON works with NASA to examine big questions facing scientists today about the nature and history of both planets through scientific exploration. JASON investigates Mars analogs: locations on Earth where environmental conditions, geologic features, or biologic attributes resemble in some way those thought to exist on Mars, now or at some point in its past. |

Introduction:
Separated by millions of miles of outer space, Earth and Mars may seem very different. Yet they are more alike than you may think. In many ways, Mars may give us a look at the future of Earth, and Earth may help us better understand the Martian past. Come join the JASON team of scientists, teachers, and students as we prepare for an adventure that will stretch from the deserts of Earth all the way to the volcanoes of Mars!
Did water exist on Mars? And if it did, could life have taken hold? What can Earth's geology tell us about the forces that shaped the Martian surface? And of course, what tools and robots do researchers use to study Mars from afar? It's time to hop aboard the JASON rocket ship and get your hands dirty in the red soils of Mars.
