The Laser Doppler Velocimeter (LDV) applies advanced laser Doppler technology to help monitor flow structure and mixing characteristics in a fluidized bed. Using information from the LDV, Dr. Larry Shadle and his team are developing detailed computer models that describe the physics of the mixing process which can then be applied to any application that uses fluidized beds.
