From: Resilient Planet Mission 4: Paradise Found (pp: 76)
Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo

Once paradise is found and a government protects the habitat by giving it national park status, how does that government protect the land and the organisms that live there? Landsat data and other NASA satellite imagery can help countries like Indonesia monitor their parks, nature reserves, and conservation forests—particularly in hard-to-reach areas like regions of Borneo. Deforestation within protected areas causes fragmented ecosystems and degradation of the ecological communities. Periodic checking of the protected areas can help decision makers with the challenges of balancing human needs with the best ecological management practices.
