A remotely operated vehicle (ROV), this submersible has been modified for its study of the Great Lakes. It can perform extended underwater missions, operating at depths far deeper than reached with standard scuba equipment. These capabilities and the ROV’s relatively small size make the mini-rover a valuable tool for observational studies and bottom sampling.
