Today was a very interesting day! We finished doing all of our research yesterday, so today was a day for us to do other things besides working. First, after the continental breakfast in our hotel, we worked on our journals for a while in the hotel lobby. We worked onboth the team journals and our personal journals. It was very exciting to see all of our work come together on paper. I didn’t realize how much we really did until it was written out. After working on our journals for a while, we headed out to Boulder from our hotel in Lakewood, a small suburb of Denver.
We started out at the Boulderado hotel in Boulder where we began Banjo Billy’s Bus Tour…….yes, you read it right. It was a decorated school bus made to look like a run-down shack. The tour consisted of crime stories, ghost stories, and a little bit of history about the Boulder area. It was really interesting and funny. The bus neighed like a horse, quacked like a duck, and barked like a dog

Another pretty place to eat

when our tour guide beeped his horn. Everyone on the streets looked at us funny, but it was a blast!
From there we went to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). It was really cool! They had a lot of displays and things related to what we learned about either here or in Milwaukee, and it was a lot of fun to be able to use everything we learned. They also had a tornado simulator, which was pretty cool. It used steam and would start to circle up into a tornado. It was a little bit different though. It actually formed from the bottom and circled up, so it wasn’t exactly true to life. But it was still cool. Then, we went to the gift shop, and I bought presents for my family. It was a pretty cool place. There were all types of books, movies, toys, and other contraptions all related to weather.

JASON has gone organic.

From the NCAR center, we went to this little teahouse for dinner. The place was "Asian" style and had all types of statues and things inside. It was beautiful. We had a great dinner and a great dessert. I think it is funny, because the past three nights we have had Asian food for dinner. The first night we had sushi, the second we had Thai, and tonight we went to this teahouse. I thought that was interesting!
So after the Asian Restaurant, we went back into the van and drove back to our hotel. Then we finished up a little bit more journaling. We also chose the pictures we wanted to use with our journals.
Today was a really nice way to end our time here in Colorado. I had so many great experiences, made

so many great friends, and I have also learned a lot! I really think I am not the same person I was before this JASON exderience. I have gained so much knowledge and my passion for science has really been awakened; more than I thought it ever would. I have so many stories to share with my family and friends. I can’t wait to do it! So the moral of the story, as cheesy as it sounds, is never under estimate yourself. I really doubted I would even have the chance to become an Argonaut, but here I am! So follow your passions and never give up.
