A phenomenal experience…
JASON Argonaut Boot Camp has been one of the most wonderful and phenomenal projects that I have ever worked on. I can’t believe how much I learned in one week! When I got here, everyone was waiting for me at Applebee’s for dinner (My flight was the latest to arrive), and I had a great time meeting everyone and getting to know all of the other Argos.
Monday was a great day too! In the morning, I was very tired, so I think that is why I spilled my orange juice in the cafeteria. I was so embarrassed! After that, we had a video conference with the students from Georgia. It was amazing! In the afternoon, we collected some weather data from various places. At night, we went to The Safe House. I think it is the most unique restaurant in the world! It is so confusing; it has puzzles, secret passages, and a weird entrance. Can you believe that to go in you have to go through a book shelf? I had a great time there, but I was very tired at night!

Tuesday was a very watery day! We went to a limestone quarry. It was the first time I had ever been in a quarry. It was very interesting seeing everyone put on their wet suits! Mine was getting stuck, so two people lifted me to make it go up and I was in the air! It was very funny! Also, it was very funny when the teachers were trying to get Cameron’s wet suit off of him! Gay-lynn taught us many tips on how to snorkel and how to clean out our snorkel. I had so much fun snorkeling! Tony took us to see a house boat and a speed boat that were underwater. I also saw an underwater tree, but we didn’t see any fish. It was enormous! I had a great day at the quarry, and we were lucky to have such a perfect day for it!
Wednesday was a wonderful day! In the morning, we had a video conference with Cathie from Thunder Bay, Michigan. We talked about ship wrecks, weather, and the Edmund Fitzgerald. We asked her questions that related to our secret Boot Camp hypothesis so that we could get some evidence. Lunch was great

because we had some sandwiches next to the lake. It was so beautiful! It looked so immense; it looked like an ocean. In the afternoon, we were interviewed. I was very nervous, but I definitely tried my best! They asked us questions about the JASON Program, who inspires us, what we want to be when we grow up, and more. It definitely was a very busy day.
Thursday was a dizzy yet fun day! We went on a boat and we met Russell and Carmen. Carmen was very sweet! On the boat we collected some weather data and saw the bottom of the ocean using sonar and a water video camera. The rocks were all covered by quagga mussels! It was very interesting! It was very funny seeing Matheus go through the window of the boat. Also, on our way back to the UWM, we laughed a lot because Mathew kept on laughing about his Spazzberry. I think it is some type of drink he made up.
Overall, this has been a great experience I will never forget! I had so much fun and I learned

Collecting dew point, wind direction & special friends

numerous so much about storms, weather, and shipwrecks. I have made new friends who will always stay in my heart and had a phenomenal time that I will always remember. This week wasn’t just what I have written above, it was a lot more! I am very thankful for being selected as a Student Argonaut for the 2006 Expedition, for being a role model for so many students, and for being able to visit so many new places. I am extremely surprised and happy!
I can’t wait until I go to Miami, Florida in August!

Humm, what should I pick?
