Resilient Planet Game - Mission 4 The Operation: Resilient Planet Game that corresponds with Mission 4 of the curriculum puts you on a scientific mission with JASON Host Researcher Dr. Enric Sala and National Argonaut, Ada Hernandez. Explore one of the world's last pristine ecosystems in the oceans near the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Use the latest technology and techniques to perform a variety of exciting research projects ranging from documenting the behavior of reclusive monk seals to analyzing the diets of fierce tiger sharks. Work with Dr. Sala to formulate cutting-edge scientific theories and save two ancient ocean predators! |
|
An outbreak of sharks? Endangered, ancient species? Our resilient planet is under
constant pressure, and it needs your help as you take on missions to protect rare
and mysterious ecosystems.
The Operation: Resilient Planet Game brings you along on real-life science
expeditions with practicing researchers and explorers. You'll need to use the right
tools, find the right data, and be prepared to argue your case. Dive into the world
of Operation: Resilient Planet through amazing 3D graphics, stereo sound,
and fun-to-use controls.
The Operation: Resilient Planet Game is available for both Windows PC and
Apple Mac OSX Platforms. Choose your operating System:
It's free to anyone who would like to play and explore!
Students will:
- Choose to ride along with Enric Sala or Bob Ballard as a research assistant
-
Pilot a remote operated vehicle (ROV) through unique underwater ecosystems
- Work
with great explorers to uncover some of the most pressing ecological scientific
mysteries
- Construct the types of tools used by modern scientists to gain cutting-edge
insight into animal behavior
- Use the data you have gathered to help persuade
decision makers
- Collect special trophies, rare creatures, and unlock video footage
along the way
 |
Highlights of The Operation: Resilient Planet Game include: |
 |
 |
Are the northwestern Hawaiian Islands experiencing a shark infestation? Can you
keep endangered marine turtles safe from harm? Solve these mysteries and discover
amazing underwater ecosystems and rare creatures by piloting the Hercules ROV.
|
Play as one of the Operation: Resilient Planet Argonauts as you work closely
with scientists and explorers like Bob Ballard and Enric Sala to answer urgent questions
about some of the most unique places on the planet.
|
Use the same methods and tools ecologists use in the field to learn about and protect
endangered animals.
|
Gather data and use it to help preserve the ecosystem by arguing your case to influential
scientists and policy-makers.
|
Use special technology to see the world from a turtle's point of view!
|
Use an ROV to explore an ecosystem that remains healthy and resilient in the face
of change.
|

Discover, catalog, and help creatures from the fiercest predator to the most vulnerable
turtle.
|
Conduct a biodiversity survey to determine the health of the ecosystem.
