Kristen is a ninth-grade student at Houma High School in Louisiana. A curious teenager, Kristen, has always been intrigued by science, especially the vast complexity of the respiratory system. Kristen has already participated in several Disappearing Wetland activities, including Hurricane 2050: Your Restoration Plan, which led to her interest in the importance of preserving the wetlands of Louisiana near her hometown.
For the Expedition, Kristen has experience with responsibility and leadership, important skills she gained as the elected editor for the sports section of her school's yearbook. In addition to scholastics, Kristen enjoys singing in her church's choir and playing volleyball.
