Michael teaches forth and fifth-grade gifted students in an interdisciplinary setting; seventh- graders in advanced science; and sixth-grade math at Eastwood Middle School in Pemberville, Ohio. In addition to working at the Middle school, Michael has been a co-instructor of a marine science class at the local high school.

 

From his role as a naturalist at a YMCA outdoor education facility to his graduate work with marine science, Michael has extensive field experiences. Michael believes in the effectiveness of hands-on learning; he planned, built, and facilitated an extensive low ropes initiative course that he designed to enhance group cohesiveness, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making. In his spare time, Michael enjoys coaching basketball and volunteering in his community.
