As a science teacher at Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Jean Robinson provides hands-on research opportunities for her students. She creates activities that include an eight-year water quality study of the Portneuf River and a current watershed study in her area. She looks forward to using her experience with the JASON Project to benefit others when she returns to Idaho. Ms. Robinson plans to strengthen ties with other schools by inviting them to participate in upcoming JASON events.
Participation in different field experiences, apart from field classes, taken as both an undergraduate and graduate student at Idaho State University, has been an integral part of Ms. Robinson's education. Her involvement has included the undertaking of an environmental impact study of a new ski resort as she attended a University of Idaho field camp in McCall, Idaho. While taking a course through Boise State University, she also participated in an expedition to dig for dinosaur fossils in the central Utah desert with dinosaur hunter Dave Gillette.
