Lollie Garay is a science teacher at Redd School in Houston, Texas. She dedicates her classroom lessons to integrated Earth- and space-based science. The year concludes with a community-wide Family Science Festival in collaboration with NASA Johnson Space Center and the Rice Space Institute.
A life-long learner, Mrs. Garay regularly continues to broaden her background in science. She received her Master of Science Teaching from Rice University in 2004 and is published in several journals. Mrs. Garay also developed Learning About Research and Technology through Science (LABRATS), an after-school program that develops students' research and inquiry skills. She looks forward to using her background in earth and space science to support fellow Argonauts.
