How is the work you do important to society?
The work I do is a small part of a greater whole that provides technology services and solutions ranging from consumer laptops/PCs to large data storage devices used by small to enterprise level companies, banks, global corporations, etc, and the applications that support them.
What accomplishments are you most proud of in your current role?
Lead team that re-designed and manages an intranet website that supports my workgroup, provide daily reports that are used by upper-level management.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your work?

Had no idea. Couldn’t decide on direction…
When did you know you wanted to pursue your current career, and what drove you towards it?
1994 after hearing how good it was to work for a company like EMC

Family (wife, cousin)
What did you believe about this career before entering into it that proved to be different once you were in?
Working in retail business for more than 20yrs, I didn’t believe it would be possible to transition to computer/electronics industry.
If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what other careers might you have pursued?
Retail business management
What advice would you give a student interested in pursuing your career?
First ask themselves “what do I enjoy doing?” Then imagine themselves in their dream job. Research & investigate various career fields and companies.
What advice would you give students in general?
Believe in yourself and what you can accomplish if you put your mind to a task, ‘learn how to learn’ and adapt, be diligent in your efforts, demonstrate integrity in your actions and always do your best.

Grand Canyon (a must see in person), Aruba, Washington D.C., Disneyworld/Epcot, Caribbean cruise, Gettysburg, New York City, San Francisco.
